New YouTube Channel About Building What Comes Next
We just released the first video on my new YouTube channel, Future in the Making, and I couldn’t be more excited to share it with you. The video is called “Detroit is Where the Future Will Be Built”, and it’s personal. It tells the story of how I moved to Detroit, why I co-founded Bloom, and why I believe this city — and the people building things here — are at the center of something much bigger than any one company.

Future in the Making is where I’ll be sharing stories from inside the ecosystem — startups, manufacturing partners, engineers, founders, and builders — all working to shape the next chapter of American innovation. Many of them are Bloom members. Some of them are just starting out, some are more established. And all of them are part of something meaningful.
What’s This Channel About?
This project is about more than just products — it’s about the people, places, and systems that make it possible to build complex physical things in a world that hasn’t made that easy for a long time. From electric bikes to drones, solar to storage, and even new forms of transportation and defense — we’re in a moment where it’s possible to rethink not just what we build, but how and where we build it.
Why Detroit?
The first video digs into that. But the short version is: there’s talent, space, infrastructure, and history here — not to mention momentum. At Newlab and Michigan Central, you can feel it. The future is already in progress.
Why Now?
Because we need to believe that making things locally, sustainably, and intelligently isn’t just possible — it’s necessary. And we need more voices showing how it’s actually being done. This channel is my way of pulling the curtain back, sharing lessons, and hopefully connecting with more people who want to build the future — and build it better.
